Welcome to the Wiki for the LRE Study Group sponsored by State Support Team Region 3 and the Office for Early Learning and School Readiness!
The purpose for our study group is:
1. To develop the capacity of child care and Head Start staff and program to meet the needs of young children identified with a disability and therefore serve as the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE);
2. To enhance the teacher knowledge base of effective implementation of early learning content standards, individualization, and universal design in order to meet the needs of all children served in the class, and particularly children identified with a disability.
We will use this Wiki to:
1. Communicate! ... Note the discussion tab.
2. Obtain and Complete Assignments
3. Serve as a record of our work.
If you are a member of the LRE Study Group and you have not received an invitation to join this wiki, create an account with wiki spaces and ask to join so that you will be able to edit. Click on "Manage Wiki" and then "Members and Permissions." You will see an option to request membership on that page. After you are a member, click on Participant's Pages and follow the directions to create your own page. Click on your name, click on Edit and add your e-mail address, an introduction and complete the survey if you have not already done so. Check out the Session Tabs: we will add notes and assignments here.
Visit Session 1-6 to see the steps you should try to complete before our first meeting.
